Precast elements include, among others, the following main areas of application: shafts, gutters, L-stones, walls, slabs, urban furniture as well as architectural concrete with high performance concrete (HPC) or ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete (UHPFRC). Depending on the requirements, we recommend a short fiber such as Concrix SA (25 mm) and Concrix HS35 (35 mm) or a longer fiber such as Concrix ES (50 mm) where the longer bond achieves an improved load-bearing effect. The Concrix HPC-A is predestined for HPC and UHPFRC due to its short length of 18 mm and the associated high quantity of fi bers per kg. The use of the fibers has a positive effect on the shrinkage behavior of the concrete, minimizes shrinkage cracks and massively improves protection against spalling on the edges and corners of the elements. A reduction or possible entire replacement of steel reinforcement depends on the element, application and conditions. A review and creation of a report or recommendation of the required fibre type and dosage can be prepared by Contec Fiber AG upon request.
