ÖBB cable pull shaft precast part


In addition to efficient production in the precast plant, there was a desire to have a permanent reinforcement solution for the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).


Contec Fiber developed a fibre hybrid solution for the manufacturer of the elements, enabling an economical and ecological solution for the client. Reducing the steel reinforcement made it possible to speed up the production and delivery of the components.

Project details

  • Product

    To cover the stresses that occur, the static calculation resulted in a dosage of 4.5 kg Concrix ES per m³ plus additional steel reinforcement.

  • Application

    The solution with 4.5 kg of Concrix ES per m³ of concrete allowed 640 kg of construction steel to be saved per shaft element. This corresponds to a reduction of around 65% of the original structural steel content and CO₂ savings of 1,365 kg per shaft element.
